The 100/1000BASE-T1 Media Converter performs full-duplex physical-layer conversion between automotive Ethernet (1000BASE-T1 / 100BASE-T1) and standard Ethernet (1000BASE-T / 100BASE-TX). It lets you connect automotive Ethernet ECUs and cameras directly to standard PCs, laptops, and switches, making it a key tool for ECU testing, network validation, and vehicle communication analysis.
[Key features] Speed and master/slave settings can be auto-negotiated with the link partner or set manually by the user. Advanced functions include a frame generator, cable diagnostics, and simultaneous use as a USB-CAN(/FD) interface. Built-in status LEDs and DIP switches mean it can be used without a PC.
[Use and standards] The status of both the T1 and standard Ethernet ports can be read and set through an open communication protocol over USB (VCP) or CAN(/FD). The v2 models support MACsec (TC17) security and TC10 sleep/wake-up. Two connector types are available, TE MATEnet and Rosenberger H-MTD, and a free PC application (.NET / Windows) is included.
Variants with different connectors (MATEnet / Rosenberger H-MTD) and a USB Interface version are available, and v2, announced in 2025, supports MACsec and TC10 (sleep/wake-up). For evaluating secure automotive Ethernet, we can also propose a configuration combined with the company's MKA Stack & MKA Tester.
Bidirectional conversion between automotive Ethernet 100/1000BASE-T1 and ordinary Fast/Gigabit Ethernet. With cable diagnostics, frame generation, and USB-CAN functions; a Rosenberger H-MTD version is available.
